David Crowder has written an excellent book entitled Building a Web Site for Dummies.  This is the most comprehensive book I have ever seen in covering the design of a website along with the linking and promotion of the website after it is finished.  The book also includes a CD with trial website software.

The author gives a step by step procedure for designing your website, and dozens of instructional website addresses are mentioned so that a person can learn more.  For example, he explains how to list your website with search engines after it is completed.  He also tells about how to handle ecommerce and credit cards.    

Another area of discussion involves adding extra content to your website in addition to your own creation.  Free news, quotes, jokes, and weather can be added to you website to make it more interesting. 

Then, finally, David mentions link partners and keywords to make your website come out toward the top in searches.  He also talks about affiliate programs and making money with your website.  He gives the links for these companies, too.  This is a great book to have in your library!
